Meghan Perry

MPH MCH (Wits), PG SI (SHU), BSc (Hons) SLP

Meghan is a passionate paediatric speech and language pathologist from South Africa with an academic journey beginning at the University of Cape Town. Meghan specializes in working with children with physical and learning disabilities. She has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals and schools in countries across Africa including Egypt, South Africa and most recently Nigeria. Meghan subsequently earned her Master’s in Public Health degree from the University of the Witwatersrand specialising in child and maternal health. In addition, Meghan is a qualified sensory integration practitioner, neurodevelopmental practitioner and his currently completing her qualification in hippotherapy.

Meghan is a passionate advocate for sustainable development and community empowerment across Africa. With a deep commitment to social impact she has dedicated her career to advocating for persons with disabilities, equal education and healthcare across both the public and private sector.  She has a particular interest in non-governmental organizations (NGOs) focused on education, child development, health, disability and community empowerment. Drawing on her experience in community outreach, capacity building and empowerment, Meghan strives to create meaningful change by fostering collaboration between local communities and stakeholders. Motivated by a belief in equity, dignity, and opportunity for all, she wishes to champion initiatives that uplift and empower vulnerable populations and drive long-term progress across the continent.

In her spare time Meghan loves to travel to far flung places with her husband Worack, and spends as much time as possible riding her horse, Watermark. Meghan is an animal lover and thoroughly enjoys getting involved in animal and paediatric outreach initiatives across the continent. Her favorite places to spend time are in nature amongst animals,different cultures and beautiful landscapes.
